I'll let you in on a little secret... I'm a professional illustrator and it took me YEARS to get in to a daily drawing rhythm! Wanting to draw every day is easy, but actually DOING it will take some dedication! If you're ready, this is for you!
Drawing every day can be a wonderful way to practice, explore, and discover new things about yourself. If you feel stuck in a creative rut, this challenge is just the thing to get you out!
I get it... sometimes you just need a little help to get your creative juices flowing. No need to think of what to create each day! You'll get an email with 3 prompts, inspiration, and tips for success.
Meet Your Instructor
I'm an illustrator most known for "sketchnotes" (aka live event drawings), and I'm the author of The Art of Visual Notetaking. I've been teaching creative workshops to thousands of students both online and in-person since 2017. I want to help you connect with your creativity and grow in confidence!
Every day I'll be emailing you a reminder to draw along with some prompts, a drawing tip, and something inspiring to help you.
I'll teach you how to build a habit instead of burning out.
You can pick up right where you left off! Every email stays in your inbox, and you have access to the whole prompt archive for life.
Inconsistency is part of building a habit sometimes!
Improvement comes from regular practice PLUS challenging yourself with new methods and mediums. This course helps you with all of this! If you're willing to put in the work, you will see improvement (but it might take longer than 30 days!)
Day 1 begins as soon as your purchase! Your program ends 30 days from purchase date.
I give 3 prompts per day, and some are vague on purpose... how you interpret them is up to you! You can draw however you'd like in whatever medium. Some people practice lettering, some sketchnote, some journal, some draw traditionally... No matter what you do, the point is to intentionally draw every day for 30 days.
The benefits of daily drawing is all about having a creative habit, expressing yourself, and enjoying the brain benefits like improved thinking, creativity, and relaxation. It's more about what you get out of it and less about how good you are. Still, I COMPLETELY understand wanting to be better at something or not get in too deep with something you don't feel experienced in! Here are a few thoughts and ideas:
Start with super small paper like post-its or Notecards, and just use what they have on hand. Even doing one small drawing a day can be helpful to get better!
Have you ever heard of a blind contour drawing? Here's an awesome video about it. This type of sketching is less about your results and more about your practice.
You could also follow a tutorial each day for your sketch. I personally love the Etherington Brothers Blog because they have loads of free step-by-step tutorials to pick from.
A supplies guide is included in the course, but as long as you have paper and pen, you'll be good to go! I encourage you to use a SMALL sketchbook (5x5" or smaller) to start. You can read about my favorite supplies here.
I really loved this 30 day challenge, it helped me to develop my drawing skills and start capturing what I previously thought too difficult for me. I have had so much fun and it was a great experience!
This was an affordable, fun workshop, with lots of inspiring resources and very helpful tips to practice every day a little bit. I was eager to receive your email almost every day, and now I'm trying to continue to draw every day!
This is exactly what I needed to make drawing a habit! Emily sends you ideas each day, and you're sure to find encouragement and something new you'd like to draw. Thanks Emily!
As an "I can't draw" participant, this 30-day challenge enabled me to begin sketchnoting. The learning space was welcoming and encouraging.
It's been two years I've been learning to draw and I was really able this time to see the progress and confidence I was building every day. Thanks for the opportunity!
Mission accomplished! I completed 30 sketches and I succeeded in stretching my imagination and strengthening my sketching muscles!
Regular practice, whether you feel like it or not, results in accelerated development - this really surprised me! The inner critic pipes down when you sketch regularly, and I've mostly been pleased with what I turned out.
'Mistakes' made one day turned into lessons learned or led to accidental discoveries I could build on and develop.
You'll get an email prompt every day to help you draw, and this is the archive where they're all stored in case you want to access the contents outside of your email inbox.
